Despite suffering great poverty during the Middle Ages the people of Tuscany, thanks to their great culinary skills and imagination, managed to create from the few ingredients available delicious cakes to eat at Christmas time.

"BRISTOT", founded in 1929, still uses the same genuine and simple Tuscan ingredients to make panforte, ricciarelli, cavallucci and all the traditional Sienese cakes that have been known and appreciated for hundreds of years.

Now, everyday many people visiting San Gimignano discover for the first time just how delicious these cakes are whilst walking through the town's medieval streets and beneath her beautiful towers.
