Our history
The Mari family has been trading in San Gimignano for generations (our main business has been legally registered with the Chamber of Commerce in Siena since its foundation in 1920). The family’s main accommodation business began in 1989 under the name Affittacamere Mari Ivosca; since early 2000 it has been operating under its current name.
And so, in the accommodation sector we have surpassed our twentieth anniversary, being among the most long-lasting hotelier businesses around San Gimignano. Over the years we have had guests from around the world who have fully appreciated our accommodation.
With the intention of continuing our tradition, guests can avail of our quality and experience.
The property
Located in Via San Piero, 1, in the historic centre, in a quiet and bright position and just a stroll from the paid parking, no. 3 and no. 4 "Bagnaia", our accommodation facility, occupies the entire second and last floor of an ancient noble building, ideal accommodation for anyone in search of a pleasant holiday in the heart of Tuscany.
Its location allows guests to reach the main streets and squares, which are full of history, culture and art, in just a few minutes, as well as the craft and souvenir shops, leather shops, clothes shops and typical food shops; at the same time, the immediate surroundings offer plenty of local, typical grocery shops, bars, pastry shops and excellent restaurants.
Rooms were delicately renovated in 2005 and offer high standards of comfort and service.
We would be delighted to recommend plenty of historical-cultural and wine-food itineraries to guests.
Apartments
There are two, fully independent apartments which can be divided further if need arises; this can occur for anyone requiring more space during their stay with exclusive use for greater privacy and independence.
The rooms were designedto enable maximum flexibility of accommodation to host from 2 to 8 people in the apartment (plus 2 additional beds possible for children under 12 years of age), based on individual needs, also changing the price of the accommodation.
Our apartments, as for our rooms, have been named after two of the Major Arts of Florentine Signoria, in honour of activities conducted by our family and our ancestors.
