Fattoria Poggio Alloro

In the characteristic hills of San Gimignano, surrounded by the picturesque Tuscan countryside, we cultivate our products with the full respect of the ORGANIC AGRICULTURE. The farm is filled with vineyards, olive groves, cereal crops, woods, fruit trees, vegetables, saffron, and pastures for the farms animals. There is also a herd of 50 prized Chianina beef cattle, which is one of the oldest breeds in the world and is now at risk of extinction. In our restaurant we serve the wonderful Fiornetina beefsteak. The traditional one comes from the Chianina cattle. We are a self sustaining family farm which also raise chickens, rabbits, guinea-fowls, pigs. In the perfectly restored farm house, only 5 km away from San Gimignano, 40 km from Florence, and 30 km from Siena, you will find our simple, friendly and sincere hospitality, in the breathtaking scenery of the Tuscan rolling hills. The agriturismo consists of one apartment and ten rooms in Tuscan style, each with a private bathroom and shower. In summer, our guests can cool off in the swimming pool overlooking the towers of San Gimignano, while in winter a cosy fireplace will keep you warm, either in the breakfast room or in the main dining room. At Fattoria Poggio Alloro you have the chance to taste our family recipes, and many local dishes and specialties that belong to the Tuscan culinary tradition. We usually cook with seasonal and organic products that come directly from the farm, all the dishes are always accompanied by the wines that we produce and bottle.
