Perched on the edge of a hill this charming, traditional Tuscan cottage looks out over rolling countryside to the distant blue hills of Chianti. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves it is the very heard of the region producing “Vernaccia”.
This excellent dry white wine is available from the owner who together with his family will give you a very warm welcome. They live in the farmhouse next door to the cottage and whilst not intruding on your privacy are most kind and helpful.
The cottage is conveniently situated just over 1km from an excellent restaurant and between the towns of Certaldo and San Gimignano both only about five minutes drive away. At San Gimignano there are many historical monuments to visit, a good choice of restaurants, lots of local craft shops and an open air swimming pool whilst Certaldo has a supermarket, railway station and an interesting medieval quarter, birthplace of the famous poet Boccacio end home of the “Mercantia” craft fair.
Just 12km down the road is Poggibonsi with its rail and road links to both Siena and Florence marking it very easy to visit Tuscany’s most important sights.

The cottage is comfortably furnished in traditional style to a high standard. All its rooms are on the ground floor and it has tiled floor, beamed ceilings and a nice warm atmosphere. The glass doors of the living room open on to a patio with pergola which is furnished with table and chairs for dining alfresco whilst immediately next to the cottage is a private garden terrace furnished with sun loungers end enjoying a beautiful view of the countryside. There is also a small covered patio with barbecue. The grounds of Fornacelle are very well maintained and there are lots flowering plats.

The room is composed from a matrimonial bed and a single bed; shower room with shower, basin, W.C. and bidet; Central heating.
