A Residence placed on " via Francigena", one of most important routes for pilgrims during the Middle Ages .

The residence Le Fornaci takes the name from the farm "Le Fornaci", in fact the recidence once was the country property's housing place. A careful search has reveled that denomination "Le Fornaci" is due to the way the building was used in the past. In the beginning of the XIV th century the name "Le Fornaci" is still present along the way that exits from Porta San Matteo, it appears many times in documents. Pompeo Neri in "Inquiry on the State of the Manufactures of Granducato of Tuscany", assembled in 1768, assert that in an area called "Le Fornaci", outside Porta San Matteo many were potters. In fact until the mid-1700's it was possible to still find the trace of this activity in the ruins in that locality. Moreover, an oral testimony reports that, in the 40s, during archeological researches brought to light what could have been the baking-surface of the original furnace.

Ground floor: 1 single room with bathroom (extra bed) or one-room apartment for 2 people (28 mq.) with an indipendent entrance, cooking corner with refrigerator.

Ground floor: 1 double room with bathroom   or two-room apartment for 2-4 people (40 mq.) with as indipendent entrance, place for one car. There is olso a garden where it is possible to enter from the living room's window/door. 1 double room, bathroom, living room/kitchen with double couch-bed.
