The
“Azienda agrituristica IL MELOGRANO” is set in the territory
of San Gimignano, seven km. faraway from the town, on the ancient itinerary
of the Via Francigena, 160 metres on the sea level. The house was built
on the XIXth century and in 1998 it was carefully restored to keep its
original architecture. On a hill, it offers a delightful view on the
Val d’Elsa and Certaldo, a town 3 km. faraway. The landscape all
around is the green Tuscan countryside with its gentle hills covered
with vines and olive trees which invite visitors to enjoy trips in the
surrounding area and taste the typical Tuscan dishes accompanied with
Chianti and Vernaccia, the white wine from San Gimignano.
The family-run farm covers 11.47 hectares cultivated with vine, olive
yard, wood, vegetable garden and orchard. Poultry and rabbits are grown,
too. Guests can visit the farm and buy natural products such as wine,
oil, saffron, honey, jam, vegetables, fruit, eggs, and other typical
products such as hand-maid pasta.
The farmhouse offers 2 apartments with 6 rooms (5 double rooms and 1 single room) for a total of 11 beds and kitchen. One apartment is composed by four double rooms all en-suite and kitchen (the apartment can be devided into 2 smaller apartments with 2 double rooms and kitchen).
