Group visits in San Gimignano

Groups visiting San Gimignano  can book ahead sightseeing itineraries to museums and churches with or without a tourist guide.
Reduced parking fees for tourist buses are provided for groups that book ahead their visit to Town Museums, as specified below.

PRIVATE TOURIST BUSES – PARKING FEE REDUCTIONS

Here following, you find information about parking fee reductions for tourist buses:   
50% in case of groups (minimum 15 or 30 members: see detail below) booking for the Civic Museums;
50% in case of school groups (only between November and Febbraio);
100% in case of groups of disabled visitors;

50% REDUCTION IN CASE OF GROUPS BOOKING FOR THE CIVIC MUSEUMS

Reductions will be allowed in case of reservations for groups of:

• minimum 15 members for buses long 8 meters or less; 
• minimum 30 members for buses longer than 8 meters.

Groups are required to book their visit at least 15 days in advance. Groups without an advance booking will be denied entry.

50% REDUCTION IN CASE OF SCHOOL GROUPS 
(only between November and February)
How to ask for the reduction.
Visitors are required to ask for their reduction at least 4 weekdays in advance, by logging in to the restricted area on our web site http://busterminal.comune.sangimignano.si.it/ar/.
Please, be sure that you produce the required documents, as described below.
The request itself does not give access to the reduction. In order to be effective, your request will have to be confirmed per e-mail by the Check Point Service.

The reduction is valid for a specific date and bus plate number. In case of modifications, visitors are kindly required to inform the Check Point Service. Failing that, the reduction will not be applied.
Schools can ask for their reduction either by logging in to the restricted are of the Service web site (http://busterminal.comune.sangimignano.si.it/ar/) or per e-mail
(busterminal@comune.sangimignano.si.it).
Requests must be written on letterhead and provide the student list, the full name, signature and contact number of the person in charge of the group.
The Administration may reserve the right to ask for further records, in case the ones provided are not considered adequate.
The reduction voucher will have to be produced when checking-in at the check point. Failure to do so will incur charge of the full fee.
Please, note that reductions for school groups are only applicable from November to December.
LOG-IN TO THE RESTRICTED AREA

100% REDUCTION FOR GROUPS OF DISABLED VISITORS
Access allowed to the Piazzale Martiri di Montemaggio
(closed to the town centre) to pick up and drop off visitors.
How to ask for the reduction.

A self-certification of the disability status of the visitors is required.

LOG-IN TO THE RESTRICTED AREA

THE COMPETENT AUTHORITIES MAY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CARRY OUT SPOT CHECKS ON THE DOCUMENTS PROVIDED (Art. 71 DPR 445/2000).

Public transport to the town centre
Bus rides are available from the check-point to the town centre (“linea 1” available from January to December, “linea 2” available during high season).
Tickets can be bought  directly from the Check Point Service.
Public transport means are not allowed to enter the town centre frm June to September, the closest stops are at the Main Gates San Giovanni and San Matteo.
